Want to make sourdough bread but don’t have the time to make fresh sourdough starter? Understandable, it takes a week or two to make a good active sourdough starter from scratch. Or maybe you don’t know how to make it? I’ll make it easy for you! I’ll provide you with your own fresh sourdough starter, complete with instructions on how to keep it alive for as long as you want. That way, you don’t have to keep buying it like the normal fresh or dried yeast that you get at the supermarket.

It’s wild yeast, so all you have to do is keep feeding it once a week, or more often if you want to use it more frequently. It’s as simple as that! Just follow the instructions and it’ll last indefinitely. I’ve even revived my sourdough starter after not feeding it for more than two weeks, so it really is low maintenance and so worth the effort! Sourdough bread smells and tastes heavenly! And apart from bread, you can make pizza, focaccia, pita bread, Indian naan bread and ciapati, pancakes, etc. It all tastes so much better when it’s made with sourdough starter!

If you live in Ticino, or in one of the Italian towns closeby, you can order your sourdough starter and come and pick it up. Bring your own clean glass jar with a lid, minimum capacity 0.25 litre. If you’ve got a 0,5 liter jar, that’s even better. I’ll give you your freshly fed, ready-to-use sourdough starter, along with written instructions on how to keep it alive. I’m sorry but I can’t send it to you, not even if you offer to pay for the shipping yourself.
